Exterior Mural by Kelly Poling

Kelly William Poling, formerly a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, was a super realist extraordinaire. Originality and creative ideas are special gifts which he has adapted to the requisites of others. Reproduction and enlargement of photographs was a specialty of Poling's, so when the first historic mural of Chillicothe was commissioned, he was the top pick.

In addition to his beautiful murals, Kelly also sat on the Main Street Chillicothe Design Committee, giving his expert opinion on projects in the downtown. He owned and operated Original Artworks by Kelly: a shop where he could display his works and provide matting and framing services. Family is a large part of Kelly's work; see if you can spot his family members' names—his wife Angela, his son Gabe and his daughter McKenna—hidden in the murals.

Chillicothe Arts Mural: In Chillicothe, the arts have always had strong support from individuals, organizations, the schools and the city. Honoring this tradition, and paying tribute to local muralist Kelly Poling, Cultural Corner Art Guild commissioned Poling’s 60th and final mural, insisting he portray himself somewhere in this interactive mural.
